Delete your account

You can close your VIOM BHARAT account at any time, and we will delete your personal information. This page explains exactly what goes, what stays and why.

Deleting from the app

This is the quickest way, and it happens immediately.

  1. Open the VIOM BHARAT app and go to the Account tab.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
  3. Read what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, then tap Delete my account.

Your account is closed straight away and you are signed out. We send a confirmation to your email address so that you know it happened — if you ever get that email without having asked for it, reply to it at once.

Deleting from this website

Sign in at your account page and use the Delete my account link at the bottom. It works exactly the same way as the app.

Deleting by email

If you cannot sign in — you have lost access to the email address on the account, for instance — write to hello@viombharat.com from any address you can use, or call +91 97556 10573, and tell us the account you want closed. We will need to check you are the account holder before we delete anything, which usually means confirming a recent order number. We complete these requests within 30 days.

What is deleted

  • Your account, your name and your email address
  • Your saved delivery address and phone number
  • Your wishlist
  • Any product reviews you have written
  • Your newsletter subscription and any back-in-stock alerts you asked for
  • Any unused sign-in codes

All of it is removed from our live database at once. It disappears from our encrypted backups as those roll over, within 30 days.

What we have to keep, and for how long

Your past orders. Every order is a tax invoice, and Indian law requires a business to keep its invoices — with the buyer's name and delivery address on them — for eight years. We cannot delete these, and no online shop in India can. What we do instead is cut their link to your account, so that the order can no longer be reached by signing in and is no longer connected to you as a customer.

A record that a discount code was used. We keep the count so that a one-per-customer code stays one-per-customer, but we remove who used it.

This cannot be undone

Once an account is closed we cannot bring it back — not the wishlist, not the saved address, not the reviews. You are welcome to shop as a guest afterwards, or to make a fresh account with the same email address; it simply starts empty.

If you only want fewer emails

You do not have to close your account to stop hearing from us. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and using it leaves your account, orders and wishlist exactly as they are.
